My biggest takeaway from this episode was the need for writers to be multifaceted - when it comes to their art and also navigating the current publishing industry.
Zetta’s discussion of the tension present in simply knocking on a door has lingered with me for days now. It’s so true and has me wondering- what other micro moments in our lives hold that much tension?
I think my favorite work by Zetta is Moonwalking. That book had me hooked from page one and I loved the variety of poetry and the dual pov going. It was brilliant and is a mentor to my own poetry journey.
My biggest takeaway from this episode was that the majority of writing happens in your mind. Sometimes I beat myself up for not actually sitting to write when I need to realize that I have a lot of writing going on in my mind. I do need to sit and write more, but I AM still creating in some capacity when "just" thinking.
